It is with great pleasure that I invite you to join General Wesley Clark in a special event in honor of United States Congressman Gary Peters.
By joining together to support Congressman Peters, we Albanian-Americans hope to demonstrate our size, our commitment, and our active engagement in U.S. politics, sending a clear message that the Albanian-American Community is united and strong, in an effort to further strengthen our voice both here in Michigan and in Washington D.C.
General Clark is well respected by millions of Albanians around the world. In 1998, he commanded Operation Allied Force, NATO’s first major combat action, which saved 1.5 million Albanians from Serbian ethnic cleansing in Kosova.
Congressman Peters has already emerged as a brilliant first-term lawmaker in Washington, D.C. He is a staunch supporter of the Albanian-American community and has already demonstrated a great willingness to reach out to our community in extraordinary ways. Congressman Peters is already working to make a difference on issues of importance to our community, including issues related to immigration, job creation for Albanians, job training and various other issues important to us. We are very fortunate to have an important ally like Congressman Peters in our nation’s capital.
This fundraising event will begin with an exclusive VIP cocktail reception at my home, where the host committee will have an opportunity to have an intimate discussion with Congressman Peters and General Clark.
Immediately following the private reception, Congressman Peters and General Clark will address members of our community at the Grand Reception at St. Paul’s Albanian Catholic Church located at 525 W. Auburn (east of M-59) in Rochester Hills, MI. Entertainment including music and dancing will follow.
